Jamshedpur, July 7: National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) officials gave Rs 1 lakh to the next of kin of late Chhita Tudu who died on the four-lane highway near Ghatsila Sub Divisional Hospital on 25th June last.
Also present on the occasion, Ghatsila MLA Ramdas Soren said Chhita Tudu was killed on the highway due to the fault of NHAI which had reportedly built a ‘cut road’ at the place of accident. Over one dozen people have lost their life due to the cut road. Despite this, NHAI authorities did not take heed of the matter. After the death of Chhita Tudu, the NHAI officials blocked the road to prevent further deaths, said the MLA.
The MLA further said that the family of late Chhita Tudu would also get Rs 1 lakh under Chief Minister’s Road Safety Scheme.
