Jamshedpur: The Narcotics Coordination Committee (NCORD) held a meeting to curb the illegal trade of narcotics in Jamshedpur under the directives of Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi.
During the meeting, officials reviewed measures to strengthen enforcement against drug trafficking and issued instructions for regular raid operations targeting the smuggling, storage, and sale of narcotics. Sensitive areas such as Bagbera, Jugsalai, and Burmamines were identified for intensified surveillance.
Authorities directed the Police and Excise Department to conduct joint operations and further strengthen intelligence networks to effectively dismantle drug supply chains.
Special emphasis was laid on monitoring areas around educational institutions. Officials were instructed to organize awareness campaigns in schools and colleges to educate young people about the harmful effects of drug abuse.
The administration also stressed the importance of keeping de-addiction and rehabilitation services active and accessible, ensuring support for those seeking recovery.
The district administration urged citizens to play an active role in the fight against narcotics by sharing information about illegal activities. Residents have been requested to report any instances of drug trade, consumption, or transportation via the toll-free helpline 112 or the Police Control Room number 0657-2431028.
