Jamshedpur murder: The mystery continues, accused still at large

DIG reaches city, promises to solve mystery

Jamshedpur, April 13: Mystery continues to shroud the gruesome murder of four persons in Kadma area of Steel City as the police are yet to establish the motive behind the killing.

The city police have launched a search operation to nab Tata Steel employee Deepak Kumar who has been accused of killing four persons, including two minor girls inside a residential quarter on Tista Road under Kadma Police Station area on Monday evening.

Forty two year-old man Deepak Kumar who is father of the two minors is suspected to have committed the gruesome killings sometime in the afternoon before fleeing his residence having locked the front door.



The other two murder victims were Vina Kumari (35) who was Deepak’s wife and Rinki Ghosh (21), who was tuition teacher of the two minors, Diya Kumari (15) and Sanvi Kumari (11).


Rinku Ghosh who was a resident of Ramjanam Nagar in Kadma had come to teach the two minors at about 11am today. But as she did not return home at her usual time till 1 pm, her family members came to Deepak’s residence to see what happened to her that she did return home.


Meanwhile, on Tuesday DIG Rajiv Ranjan Singh reached the city and rushed to Kadma to probe the gruesome incident. Along with a team from Forsenic Lab, Singh inspected the residential quarter. DIG said that he has ordered a thorough probe. He refused to accept that there was a love affair between the assailant and tuition teacher. However, added that the girl might have been sexually assaulted at the time of death.

City SP, Subhash Chandra Jat and Kadma thana OC, Manoj Kumar Thakur have started inspecting the crime scene.  From the initial probe it was found that all the four persons were killed with a dumbbell made of iron.
