Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Mahato discusses local infrastructure issues with Nitin Gadkari

Jamshedpur, August 8: Jamshedpur Member of Parliament (MP) Bidyut Baran Mahato met the Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari and discussed infrastructure issues in his constituency. The issue addressed in the meeting was the construction of a 4 km PCC concrete road along both service roads of NH 33 from Kaliadinga to Matihana Chowk for which the tender had already been floated. Mahato also emphasized the need for an underpass in Phuldungri, Ghatshila which had been kept in abeyance for two years.

Gadkari stated, “Officials concerned will be reprimanded for poor work and will be instructed to complete the necessary paperwork within 15 days and release the tender within a month.”

Mahato also raised the issue of an underpass at the PWD Chowk crossing in Baharagora. Mahato remarked, “Due to the absence of the underpass, frequent accidents occurred which raised local concern.” Gadkari assured Mahato that this project would also be expedited.

The non-functional streetlights on NH 6 and NH 33 were also attributes to cases of rising road accidents and this issue was also discussed. Gadkari expressed his ire on this score and directed officials to get the street lights repaired at the earliest.

The construction of a bypass road near the Dhalbhumgarh and the construction of an underpass at NH 6 in Jagannathpur were also discussed in the meeting.(
