Jamshedpur: Monish Lal and Mayank Raj win 4th Inter Ramakrishna Mission Schools Chess Tournament

Jamshedpur, April 27: The 4th Inter Ramakrishna Mission Schools Chess Tournament, held at Ramakrishna Mission English School in Bistupur, concluded with fervor on April 26. The event, which saw enthusiastic participation from 42 students representing 11 different schools, showcased intense strategic battles across the chessboard.

Under the distinguished patronage of Chief Guest Srimat Swami Istapremanandji Maharaj, the tournament commenced its five rounds of exhilarating gameplay. Over two categories, 22 juniors and 20 seniors showcased their skills and determination.

The tournament was orchestrated meticulously by a proficient team of organizers, led by Chief Arbiter Jayant Kumar Bhuiyan and Tournament Technical Director Chandan Kumar Prasad. Arbiter Aman Choubey and Shubhangi Verma ensured smooth proceedings throughout the event.

In a display of exceptional talent and tactical prowess, Mayank Raj from Sri Ramakrishna High School, Bistupur, emerged victorious in the junior category, with Harman Singh from Ramakrishna Mission English School, Bistupur, securing the runner-up position.

In the senior category, Monish Lal from Ramakrishna Mission English School, Sidhgora, claimed the championship title, while Anuj Poddar, also from Ramakrishna Mission English School, Sidhgora, secured the runner-up spot.

Acknowledging the efforts and participation of all contestants, participation certificates were awarded to each participant, fostering a spirit of sportsmanship and encouragement.

The prize distribution ceremony witnessed a moment of triumph and recognition as Chief Arbiter Jayant Kumar Bhuiyan, along with Apubo Das, Principal of Ramakrishna Mission English School, Sidhgora, and Jayshree Banerjee, Principal of Ramakrishna Mission Lady Indra Singh English School, Indranagar, felicitated the deserving winners.  K.
