Jamshedpur, Oct 8: A pall of gloom has descended over Khargangjhar after a mobile shop owner Ronnie was found dead near Chhotabanki Dam under MGM police station area on Wednesday.
The tragic discovery sent shockwaves through the local community.
According to reports, locals spotted Ronnie’s body near the dam and immediately informed the police.
A team from MGM police station rushed to the spot, launched an investigation, and recovered Ronnie’s scooter from the spot.
Police also found some tablets in his pocket, indicating possible self-poisoning.
Preliminary investigation suggests that Ronnie ended his life. Police sources revealed that his final WhatsApp status read “Alvida” (Goodbye), which appears to confirm his intent.
Family members and neighbours said Ronnie had been under severe family-related stress in recent days.
A neighbour informed that Ronnie had left home around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday for his shop but did not return by night.
When the family traced his mobile location, it showed his last location near Chhotabanki Dam, where they eventually found his body.
Initially, the information was shared with Birsanagar police station, but the case was officially registered under MGM police station due to jurisdiction.
The body has been sent to MGM Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Ronnie is survived by his wife and a young son. His sudden demise has left Khargangjhar and adjoining areas in deep shock and mourning.
Police are currently conducting a thorough investigation to ascertain the circumstances that led to the tragic incident.
