Jamshedpur, April 18: Independent Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy continued salvo against health minister Banna Gupta with another letter to chief minister Hemant Soren accusing the minister of misusing his position and seeking his removal from ministership.
“The health department resolution regarding eligibility of Covid incentive amount has been misinterpreted due to vested interest. To pay the incentive amount in the bank account of the minister and other ineligible health workers of health minister cell, 60 bills have been sent from the Health Department in Doranda Treasury (Treasury) and Project Building Treasury (Treasury),” the letter mentions.
The letter further mentions that by order of the Minister, 54 bills sent to Doranda Treasury have been paid. The incentive amount has gone into the bank account of all the concerned personnel while six bills sent to the Project Building Treasury have lapsed. Out of the lapsed bill one bill is of the health minister himself. Two bills belong to the minister’s two personal secretaries, two Bills belong to the minister’s two personal assistants and one bill belongs to a working clerk of the Minister’s Cell.
It adds that after the financial irregularities committed by the health minister were exposed, the Minister opened the office of the Health Department on holidays on April 14 and April 15, 2022, rigged the papers and tried to erase the evidence of his corrupt practices.
“After getting the information about his bill being lapsed, the Minister got the office opened on 15th April 2022, a holiday, and got an office order issued from the departmental joint secretary, Manoj Kumar Sinha. The 54 employees in whose bank account the amount of Covid incentive had gone by the order of the Minister, the Minister got his order canceled citing morality. This order is actually a proof of the corrupt practices of the minister,” the letter informs.
“In the light of the above details, it is requested that action will be taken to sack the Health Minister and prosecute him,” Saryu Roy requests.
