Jamshedpur MLA Saryu Roy sends fresh forgery evidence in T-shirt scam

Jamshedpur, March 5: Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy’s personal assistant has furnished additional evidences of forgery in T-shirt scam during Jharkhand Foundation celebration of 2016 during Raghubar Das tenure as chief minister to the DGP Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB).
In a letter supposedly sent from Ludhiana for state foundation day celebration 2016, the personal assistant states that, “In relation to the supply of T-shirts the State Tax Additional Commissioner of Punjab Government sent the supply details to the secretary-cum-commissioner, Commercial-tax Department of Jharkhand and payment received by Kudu Fabrics of Ludhiana. There is a huge difference in the details sent to the Deputy Commissioner of Ranchi to do so. State Tax Commissioner, Government of Punjab, in the details sent to the Secretary-cum-Commissioner, Government of Jharkhand, states that Kudu Fabrics has carried five consignments of T-shirt bundles by road and six consignments (attached) by rail to Dhanbad and Ranchi respectively.
The letter to the DGP ACB further states that on the other hand, according to the details sent by Kudu Fabrics to the Deputy Commissioner, Ranchi for receiving the payment, the consignment of T-shirts has been sent from Ludhiana to Ranchi by total 13 bills, out of which only two bills have to be transported by a transporter named Mahadev Logistics. The remaining bills mention that the consignment of T-shirts was sent from Ludhiana to Ranchi by autorickshaw. Transport by Mahadev Logistics is mentioned in both the returns, but Supreme Freight Carriers’ letter is not mentioned in the bills sent by Kudu Fabrics to the Deputy Commissioner of Ranchi. Instead of transporting by autorickshaw, it is mentioned that autorickshaw is mentioned in place of the transporter.

According to the details sent from the Punjab government to the Jharkhand government, a total of Rs 3 crore 56 lakh 5 thousand 824 T-shirts have been sent, on which payment of central tax has been taken from them. But according to the details sent by Kudu Fabrics directly to the Deputy Commissioner of Ranchi, payment has been taken in lieu of sending T-shirts worth Rs 4.65 crore. It is clear from this that there is a huge difference between the two descriptions of the bundles of T-shirts coming from Ludhiana to Ranchi.
“The payment has been made from the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Ranchi without examining it. Since the Anti-Corruption Bureau is investigating it on the orders of the state government. I am sending the information,” states the letter by Pratik Sharma personal assistant to the Jamshedpur East MLA, Saryu Roy.
