Jamshedpur, May 23: Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy Monday demanded a copy of the file containing documents related to the departmental inquiry conducted against IAS officer Pooja Singhal by previous state government.

In a statement issued on Monday, Roy said he had sought the copy of documents related to the departmental inquiry from the state government. He said he had written to the Jharkhand Chief Secretary and informed him that the MGNREGS funds scam against Pooja Singhal dates back before 2014. “The black money became white after demonetization on 8th November 2016. In 2017, the then government gave her clean chit. Now the Enforcement Directorate has caught her on the same charges,” he said.

Roy said Singhal had purchased half-built building of Pulse Hospital from Sarawagi, a builder, in 2018 and completed it. In 2020, the hospital treated Covid patients. Clearly, the investments in the hospital were made between 2008 and 2020, he said.

Roy said he was ready to pay the fee to get information about the inquiry report against Singhal under the Right to Information (RTI) Act.
