Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur East MLA Purnima Sahu conducted an inspection tour of various areas in Birsanagar, including Sugna Colony, Ravidas Basti, Mochi Basti and M-Type locality, on Tuesday. The visit focused on reviewing the ongoing Moharda water supply project, under which new pipelines are being laid to ensure clean drinking water for local residents.
Expressing satisfaction with the progress, Sahu said, “Very soon, residents of these localities will start receiving clean and safe drinking water through the new supply system.” During her visit, she also interacted with students in nearby schools, inquiring about their education and basic needs. She listened to local grievances and directed concerned officials to address issues promptly.

Meanwhile, the MLA also visited Birsanagar Zone 11, where a daylight robbery of ₹10 lakh took place on Monday at the office of Tata Motors vendor A.K. Singh. Strongly criticizing the administration, she said, “Such recurring incidents expose the negligence of the district administration. Police seem more focused on helmet checking while criminals roam fearlessly.”

Sahu demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits and recovery of the looted amount, urging the administration to launch a citywide drive to restore public confidence and reinforce the fear of law among offenders.
