Jamshedpur: Concerned over the rising crime rate and deteriorating law and order in Jamshedpur East Assembly constituency, MLA Purnima Sahu met SSP Kishore Kaushal on Saturday, urging immediate action on 11 key demands related to public safety, crime prevention and traffic improvements. Accompanied by her representative Gunjan Yadav, she submitted a detailed letter highlighting the recent surge in crimes such as murder, theft, snatching, harassment, drug abuse and illegal activities.

She specifically mentioned the brutal murder of Vijay Kumar Nandrajog from Bagun Nagar under Sidgora police station, calling it highly alarming. Sahu emphasized that growing fear and insecurity among residents require urgent administrative action. She demanded the swift arrest and strict punishment of the culprits involved in the Sidgora murder case.
Her 11-point demand list included increasing police patrolling in sensitive areas, deploying female officers in all police stations, ensuring officers’ presence is displayed at stations, adopting a cooperative approach towards complainants, deploying Tiger Mobile units near schools during dismissal hours, cracking down on drug trade, strengthening intelligence surveillance, designating fixed checkpoints for two-wheeler inspections, avoiding unnecessary harassment of company employees returning home from work, focusing traffic enforcement on smooth mobility rather than paperwork checks, deploying traffic police at key junctions for smoother vehicle movement and preventing drug and alcohol consumption in open areas at night.
SSP Kishore Kaushal assured her that all issues raised would be addressed promptly and effectively to ensure public safety.
MLA visits murder victim’s family
Following the murder of Vijay Kumar Nandrajog alias Rinku in Sidgora, MLA Purnima Sahu visited the victim’s family on Saturday. She met the grieving relatives, gathered details about the incident and assured them of justice by urging the administration to take strict action against the culprits. She also pledged full support to the bereaved family.
