Jamshedpur, Jan 20: A 17-year-old minor girl resident of Haldipokhar of Kowali police station area near Jamshedpur has gone missing with Rs 16 lakh from her house. The family has accused a youth of Dhanbad of kidnapping a minor.
On Thursday, the family members reached the SSP office with their complaint. The family members met the Senior Superintendent of Police and urged them to find the minor at the earliest. The family members claimed that they had earlier approached the police station in this matter but they were not heard. The minor girl has been missing since January 5. On January 8, a complaint was lodged in the police station.
The father said that the daughter had become friends with a young man living in Dhanbad through social media. The family suspects that the concerned youth has kidnapped the daughter by trapping her in his net. The girl had left home on January 5 to go to college but did not return. After this the family members started searching for the girl.
The family had kept Rs 16 lakh in the house for essential work. The money was found missing from the cupboard. The family members had gone to Dhanbad to find the daughter but they did not get success. The father fears that the young man may kill the daughter for the greed of money.
