Jamshedpur, March 7: Matric and intermediate examinations will start tomorrow under strict vigil. All the examination centres in East Singhbhum — 71 for matric and 26 for intermediate were busy making arrangements for examinees.
Starting with music tomorrow matric examination in some centres will begin at 9:45 am and will conclude at 1 pm while intermediate which also has music and geology will start at 2 pm and will get over by 5:15 pm.
The district administration has restricted the use of cell phones and hi-tech digital watches for the students in the examination rooms for matriculation and intermediate. Invigilators and teachers on exam duty will also not be allowed with mobile phones at the centres.
Centre superintendents have been asked to arrange for electricity at exam points in the event of power cuts. Officials have also asked the centres-in-charge to be at the treasury office on time to collect the question papers and answer sheets and check the date and the subject. Besides, examinees will be frisked at entry points and cell phones will not be allowed inside the exam halls.
They asked to check whether students have anything written in their hands or any other exposed parts of the body. The invigilators will have to do their duty with their ID cards.
The number of centres has been increased to provide students a better ambience to answer their examinations. Lesser number of centres results in crowded classrooms and seating arrangements which increases the risk of malpractices for students.
�Students will not be allowed with cell phones. If found they will be kept with the security officials. There will be sufficient number of policemen at one centre and a patrolling officer for three centres,� noted an official.
Foolproof security arrangements have been made for exams. The district administration has already deputed static magistrates in each of the examination centres while there will be 18 zonal magistrates who would look into the smooth examinations. There would be five to six magistrates who would be patrolling the centres for surprise checking.
�We have been strictly asked not to allow cellphones in the campus. We have acquainted him of our issues concerning the security and infrastructure,” said a centre superintendent.
In East Singhbhum, only some centres out of 97 –Bharat Sevashram Uchcha Vidyalaya, Sonari; Sakchi High School and Guru Nanak High School, Sakchi; Jamshedpur High School, Dhatkidih, Michael John Uchcha Vidyalaya, Golmuri, JKS Inter College, Mango, and Utkal Samaj, Golmuri have got a few CCTV cameras.
