Jamshedpur, Feb 15: Ghatsila police here on Tuesday claimed to have cracked the case of murder of a man, identified as Durga Soren, a resident of Shirisbani village of Dhangakamal, by arresting the alleged killer, identified as Bablu Soren.
The body of Durga Soren was found hanging mysteriously from a tree in Ghatsila. It appeared that the deceased had committed suicide since his body was hanging from a branch with the help of a rope.
Shambhu Gupta, officer in-charge of Ghatsila PS, said, “We have solved this murder mystery. Durga was killed by his cousin Bablu who suspected the former of having an illicit relationship with his wife. The accused has confessed his crime during investigation.”
Police said they had recovered a green bag, a pair of blue slippers belonging to the deceased and the rope used in hanging the deceased from the tree.
The police team was led by SDPO Ghatsila Kuldip Toppo and included Govind Kumar Sao, Rukmini Kumari and Ajit Kumar Singh.
