Mail News Service Jamshedpur, Aug 12: Amalendu Das (38), a resident of Chhota Gamharia, Nirmal Path, Road No. 7 under Gamharia police station area, committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan in his house. Police recovered the body on Thursday morning and sent it to the hospital for post-mortem. According to reports, on August 2, his 32-year-old wife Tumpa Das had absconded with her lover leaving their two children at home. Amalendu Das lodged a missing report at Gamharia police station on August 3. He was under a lot of mental stress after his wife eloped with her lover. On Wednesday, he had dropped his 16-year-old son Sonu Das and 12-year-old daughter Piu Das at his maternal uncle's house in Narwa. On Wednesday afternoon, he was last seen at his house in Chhota Gamharia. On Thursday morning, neighbors found him hanging from a ceiling fan in his house. They informed the Gamharia police who reached the spot, took possession of the dead body and sent it to Seraikela Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. The deceased Amalendu Das was an employee of Tata Long Products Limited Company in Gamharia.
