Meeting on Postal Ballot Voting for Lok Sabha Elections

Jamshedpur: District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal convened a meeting in Jamshedpur to discuss voting through postal ballot, aiming to achieve 100 percent participation in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024. The meeting focused on familiarizing officials with Election Commission guidelines on postal ballot voting.

Officials were briefed on the procedures outlined for personnel categorized under Essential Services to ensure their participation in the electoral process. This category encompasses various vital sectors such as electricity, telecommunications, transportation, healthcare, and media.
Mittal emphasized the importance of compiling a comprehensive list of Essential Services personnel eligible for postal ballot voting. Officers and employees scheduled for duty on election day were instructed to utilize postal ballots to exercise their franchise, facilitated through Form 12D issued by the Returning Officer.
Postal ballot voting is scheduled to take place from May 20 to May 22, providing eligible individuals an opportunity to cast their votes. Mittal urged office heads within Essential Services to verify their employees’ inclusion in the voter list and facilitate registration for those not yet listed.
The meeting, attended by officials from Essential Service sectors including SOR, District Supply Officer, Deputy Election Officer, and District Public Relations Officer, underscored the commitment to ensure inclusive and accessible voting procedures for all eligible individuals.
