City records 67 new infections, 3 deaths
Jamshedpur, May 27: Jamshedpur on Thursday clocked the lowest daily Covid case total in two months with 67 fresh infections. It also registered 3 coronavirus-related deaths.
Earlier on April 1, Jamshedpur reported 71 positive cases.
The overall death toll in the East Singhbhum has reached 1006 and the total cases 49561.It appears to be early signs that the more dangerous Covid wave is receding from the city. The Steel City’s case positivity rate has also dropped to 5.51 percent.
The positivity rate of Covid-19 cases in Jamshedpur is around 5.51 per cent after East Singhbhum conducted over 1000 tests in the last 24 hours. The Steel City tested 1032 samples, of which, 67 turned out positive while 200 people recovered from the Covid-19 on Thursday, May 27.
Meanwhile, 3 deaths were recorded in the same duration. The continuous high number of tests have pushed the positivity rate further down to 5.51 per cent, the government data showed.
The recovery rate has climbed to 94.28% while the active cases have come down to 1893.
200 positive people recovered of the virus on Thursday pushing the recovery mark to 46662.
Deaths due to the virus continue to be sign of worry as 3 people succumbed due to Covid on Thursday, May 27, East Singhbhum Covid bulletin said.
City reported 3 deaths on Thursday, while district’s positive cases tally has mounted to 49561. According to the data provided by the East Singhbhum district health department on Thursday 3 fatalities were due to the Covid-19 infection in the last 24 hours. The death toll has climbed to 1006.
East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 338137 test per million in the district.
As per the records of health department out of 1032 people who underwent Covid tests in East Singhbhum 67 were found positive.
Over 1000 COVID-19 tests, including 261 RT-PCR and 485 RAT were conducted in the last 24 hours in the city.
The recovery rate in Jamshedpur is 94.28% while the mortality rate is 2.03%.
So far in Jamshedpur 900715 samples have been collected out of which 900122 have been tested and 850561 have turned out to be negative.
