Jamshedpur, Feb 17: Encroachment from 21 Kathas of land was removed from Bavangora locality of Azadnagar in Mango on Friday by the East Singhbhum district administration.

The purchaser of the land, Mohammad Shamsuddin, took possession of the said land in the presence of Advocate Commissioner appointed by the Court. District administration and police officials were present on this occasion.

Several illegal structures on the said land were removed. Shamsuddin had purchased the land for Rs 2 crore two years ago from UCO Bank which had auctioned the same on its former owner’s failure to repay loan against mortgage.

Several people had built houses on the land due to which Shamsuddin was unable to get possession of the land. He moved the High Court which ordered appointment of Advocate Commissioner and directed the district administration to free the land from encroachment and hand it over to its rightful owner.
