Jamshedpur Lady police’s scooty squad to keep vigil this Durga Puja

Police conduct flag march to ensure law and order

 Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur Police is making women’s security a priority, and a squad dedicated to the same for patrolling the city streets on scooters, watching over women in places where they might need assistance especially during Durga Puja was flagged off.

Women and girls of Jamshedpur can enjoy Durga Puja fearlessly. The district police has deployed a women’s squad team for the safety of women. On Friday, SSP Prabhat Kumar, City SP K Vijay Shankar, ADM Law and Order NK Lal and SDO Sandeep Kumar Meena flagged off the squad from the DSP CCR office. The SSP said that a total of 50 women police personnel are present in the women’s squad, which will tour the entire city in 25 scootys. The team is aimed for the safety of women. The job of this team is to keep an eye on the miscreants. He said that if the team has any doubts on anyone, it will give information directly by dailing 100 or by calling DSP CCR, SSP or City SP, after which other police personnel will be sent to take action at the said location. The senior officer that this team will be present in the city from 4 pm to 12 pm from October 1 to October 4.

Meanwhile, the police and administration conducted a flag march across the city in view of Durga Puja. The flag march started from the CCR office and took place across the city via Sakchi Roundabout, Kashidih Ramlila Maidan, Mango Old Purulia Road, Dimna Road, Dhatkidih. During this, SSP Prabhat Kumar, City SP Vijay Shankar, ADM Law and Order NK Lal, SDO Sandeep Kumar Meena, ASP City Sudhanshu Jain, DSP CCR Animesh Gupta and all PCR vehicles were present. The SSP said that people should enjoy the pujas comfortably. Police are deployed everywhere for security. He also appealed to everyone to celebrate in peace.

Effective police arrangement has been in place with Durga puja organising committees being instructed to ensure all cooperation to the authorities for an incident free puja.

Along with the police mobility electronic gadgets will be pressed into service on a larger scale to defuse the crisis, if any, at the local level. East Singhbhum district administration has pressed into service all departments to ensure a peaceful celebration of Durga Puja.

Several other coordinating control centres have been set up at Mango, Golmuri and District administration tightens its girdles for a peaceful puja Station Roundabout. In a bid to keep a check on eve teasing, plain-clothed cops will be there to keep an eye on hoodlums at puja venues.  Rapid Action Force and Jharkhand Jaguar personnel jointly with the local police will keep its mobility in the sensitive areas during the five hectic days and policewomen in plain clothes will be deployed at puja pandals to keep a check on the movement of the crowd.
