Jamshedpur: Kolhan University mulls disciplinary action against gold medalist

Jamshedpur, April 11: Kolhan University has reportedly planned to take disciplinary action against Soni Sengupta, Economics gold medalist and a student of Jamshedpur Cooperative College, for misbehaving during Graduation Ceremony in Chaibasa. The authorities said Soni had shown gross indiscipline by refusing to receive her gold medal and degree certificate during the Graduation event in the presence of Jharkhand Governor Ramesh Bais. Soni refused the medal and degree while accused the KU authorities of discriminating between gold medalists and other students. She opposed the university decision to organize separate graduation ceremonies for such students. She said all the students should be given degree at a single event.
