Jamshedpur: Kingfisher House excels at MNPS Sports Meet

Jamshedpur, Dec 10: The 29th annual Sports Day of Motilal Nehru Public School was organised on Saturday, December 10.

Amitava Bakshi, Chief Procurement Officer, Tata Steel was the Chief Guest for the inaugural ceremony.

Ashish Kumar, CEO- Hockey Ace Foundation & Head Sports, Tata Steel was the Chief Guest during the prize distribution ceremony. The Sports ground was overflowing with zeal, passion and excitement.

Students of four houses took part in March past led by School Pupil Leader Harshita Dubey.

The sports torch was carried by National Awardees Shobhit Singh, Ayush Kumar Gupta, Adity Modak, Vaibhavi  Shrivastava, Rishank Yadav, Rakshant Bhardwaj and Sanchita Sinha.

The Sports Oath was administered by the School Pupil Leader. The Chief Guests in his speech praised the commendable performance and encouraged the students while declaring the meet open.

The students displayed a wide array of energetic sports events ranging from the Band display, track events, march past and school drill.

The drill “Johar” by the Nursery and Pre Primary students symbolizing the culture of Jharkhand enthralled the one and all.

“Incredible India” presentation by the students of Std. IV, V &VI depicted the importance of physical and emotional health.

The Kingfisher (Blue) house emerged the overall winners. Yellow House bagged the runners-up trophy. Green House won the best March Past trophy.

Special Award of Rs1001 was given to School Pupil Leader Harshita Dubey.

2338 students of the school attended the annual meet.

Also present were VS Rana, Chairman of the School Managing Committee, Dr DP Shukla Honorary Secretary UP Sangh, Principal Ashu Tiwary, other dignitaries and parents.
