Jamshedpur: Karim City Mass Communication Department launches e-Newssheet ‘SCAN’

Jamshedpur, Jan 29: As part of the silver jubilee celebration year of the Department of Mass Communication, Karim City College, Jamshedpur launched an e-newssheet SCAN online on Saturday. The chief guest was Dr. Mohammad Reyaz, principal, Karim City College. Dr. Neha Tiwari, head of the department, Mass Communication welcomed everyone and spoke about the significance of 29th January in the history of Indian Journalism.

Dr Reyaz launched the e-newsletter and he congratulated the whole team and the department for this initiative.

The objective of SCAN is to provide a better platform for the students to implement the theoretical knowledge into practical application. Undoubtedly, it will open new doors for the students to start up and inculcate behavioral changes in improving the society by making them independent.  The initiative has been taken by the students of BA Mass Communication Video Production Semester I under the mentorship of the department of mass Communication.

Dr. Rashmi Kumari, faculty, DMC spoke about the SCAN, Bapi Murmu, faculty, DMC explained the significance of Adobe InDesign software. The students of the editorial and design team shared their experiences, among them were Sahil Asthana, Taniya Parkar, Chunaram Mandi, Ravindra Nath Murmu, Joyanto Baskey, Subrata Mandi and Sadaf Najni. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Nida Zakaria, faculty, DMC. Around 75 participants including Professor Fakhruddin Ahmad, Dr Safiullah Ansari, Dr M.Nazri, Sajid Perwaiz and Shahzeb attended the launch ceremony. 

The virtual event was successfully ended with the note that the department will celebrate its silver jubilee year with many innovative initiatives.
