Jamshedpur: Kanhaiya Singh’s murder committed to harm me, says Ex-MLA Arvind Singh

Jamshedpur, June 30: Former Ichagarh MLA Arvind Singh Thursday claimed that his brother-in-law Kanhaiya Singh was killed with the intention to harm him. He said he would ensure that the killers are identified soon.

Raising fingers on the efficacy of district police, he said, “Policing in the area has completely failed. Whatever may the police do in this case, I would find out the truth on my own.”

Kanhaiya Singh was shot dead by three armed assailants in Adityapur yesterday when he was entering his flat. The assailants escaped the scene before Kanhaiya’s bodyguard and driver could rush to the scene.

Seraikela, June 30: Seraikela-Kharsawan district BJP president Vijay Mahato criticized the state government for the poor law and order situation in Adityapur and its adjoining areas. In a statement issued here on Thursday, Mahato said the murder of Kanhaiya Singh, brother-in-law of former Ichagarh MLA Arvind Singh, yesterday served to prove how critical the situation has become.

“District BJP strongly condemns the murder and demands immediate arrest of the killers from the district administration,” said Mahato.

Mahato said Adityapur residents were now feeling unsafe as daytime killings had become the order of the day. He said the police had miserably failed in tightening noose around criminals. He said police action was limited only to helmet checking and collection of fine from the citizens. He said the BJP would take to the streets in case the killings are not stopped.
