Jamshedpur: Relentless Police Heat Forced Kidnappers to Leave Kairav Gandhi Behind

Jamshedpur: In a major relief to Jamshedpur’s business community, Kairav Gandhi, son of prominent industrialist Devang Gandhi, was safely rescued following a high-pressure police operation that forced his kidnappers to abandon him while fleeing from relentless law enforcement pursuit.

The Jamshedpur Police, in an official statement issued on Tuesday, confirmed that sustained raids and intelligence-led tracking created panic among the abductors, compelling them to leave the victim on GT Road between Chauparan and Barhi before escaping under the cover of darkness.

Police Pressure Forces Kidnappers to Flee

According to the statement, police received critical intelligence indicating that the kidnappers were planning to shift Kairav to another hideout due to mounting pressure from continuous raids across Jharkhand and neighbouring states. Acting swiftly, special police teams sealed possible escape routes and intensified surveillance.

Cornered and fearing imminent arrest, the abductors abandoned Kairav and fled. Police teams recovered him safely and ensured his immediate return to Jamshedpur. At the family’s request, security was provided until he was escorted back to his CH Area residence early Tuesday morning.

Emotional Homecoming in CH Area

As news of Kairav’s safe return spread, a large number of neighbours and well-wishers gathered outside the Gandhi residence. In an emotional moment, Kairav appeared on the balcony to acknowledge the crowd and express gratitude for the prayers and support extended during the ordeal.

The family later issued a statement saying, “By the grace of God, Kairav has returned home safely. We sincerely thank everyone for their prayers, blessings, and unwavering support during these extremely difficult days.”

Kidnapping Shook Industrial Circles

Kairav Gandhi went missing on January 13, triggering widespread concern across industrial and trade circles. His abandoned vehicle was later found in bushes near Kanderbeda, confirming fears of abduction. Investigators had revealed that the kidnappers allegedly demanded a ₹5 crore ransom, making the case one of the most high-profile kidnappings in recent years.

Devang Gandhi serves as Vice President of the Adityapur Small Industries Association (ASIA). Trade bodies, along with political leaders, had repeatedly urged the administration to ensure the youth’s safe recovery.

Manhunt Continues

Despite the successful rescue, police have made it clear that the operation is not over. Raids are ongoing at multiple locations to arrest those responsible for the crime.

“We are actively pursuing several leads. The culprits will be arrested soon, and strict legal action will follow,” the police statement said.
