Jamshedpur: Jogga inter-school badminton championship begins with enthusiasm

Jamshedpur, July 21: The JOGGA Inter-School Badminton Championship 2025, hosted by Jusco School South Park in association with JOGGA, kicked off with great excitement at the Badminton Training Centre, JRD Tata Sports Complex. The tournament features participation from 24 reputed schools across the city, showcasing the talent of young shuttlers.

The opening ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Hemant Gupta, Head of Tata Steel Adventure Foundation & Academies, who officially declared the tournament open. In his address, he highlighted the importance of sports in developing discipline, teamwork, and resilience among students.

Guest of Honour Jiju Thomas, Senior Manager at JEM Foundation, encouraged students to participate with true sportsmanship, emphasizing that both winning and losing are part of the game.

School Principal and JOGGA Secretary, Mili Sinha, warmly welcomed all participants and expressed pride in organizing this prestigious event under the JOGGA banner. JOGGA Vice President Firoz Khan and Vivek Kumar Sharma were also present at the ceremony.

The inauguration included the traditional lamp lighting followed by a welcome dance performance. The tournament will continue over three days — July 21, 22, and 23 — with exciting matches lined up.
