Jamshedpur, June 1: The fire which broke out in JK Tyre godown in Anand Vihar Colony near Dimna Road at National Highway 33 in the wee hours of Sunday ago was finally doused on Wednesday.
Fire tenders sprayed water on the godown continuously for several hours following the orders of East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav. Two fire tenders were called from Mango fire station. The fire was doused in the morning today.
Local residents heaved a sigh of relief after the incident. They faced much inconvenience due to smoke billowing out of the godown after the fire mishap. Three asthma patients residing in Abhilasha Apartment, situated just beside the godown, were removed to other places for health reasons.
Local residents had demanded speedy measures to control the fire as they feared it could spread to their houses.
