Jamshedpur, May 23: Jharkhand Bangabhashi Samanvay Samiti (JBSS), in celebration of its 22nd anniversary will organize a grand musical evening at Rabindra Bhawan in Sakchi on Sunday, May 28 from 6:30 pm. JBSS General Secretary Sandip Sinha Chowdhury gave this information during a press meet. The major attraction of the musical evening would be Sa-Re-Ga-Ma-Pa 2023 finalist Deep Chatterjee who will render a blend of traditional and popular folk songs of Bengal.

A souvenir will be released on the occasion that will cover the details of the JBSS language movement through its 22 years journey. A padyatra (foot march) will be taken out from Jamshedpur to Ranchi in September to press home the unresolved demands for the status of Bangla language in Jharkhand which, the masses should also be made aware of.

JBSS committee member Nepal Chandra Das pointed out that Bangla language teachers had been appointed along with others but neither had proper Bengali syllabus nor adequate subject-wise books been provided by the state government. Nepal questioned, “What will the teachers teach and what will the students learn until the government gives a thought to this problem?” JBSS members present at the press conference included General Secretary Sandeep Sinha Chowdhary, Working President Vishwajit Mandal, Nepal Chandra Das, Purabi Ghosh, Arijit Sarkar, Uday Shome, Babulal Chakraborty, Arup Chowdhury, Dilip Kumar Mahto, Ravindra Nath Das and Moni Bagchi.
