Jamshedpur industrialist Dilip Goyal receives bomb threat, family in panic

Jamshedpur: Renowned businessman Dilip Goyal, a resident of Bistupur CH area and director of ASL Motors, has received a bomb threat, causing panic among his family and the city’s business community. The threat was made through a WhatsApp call from an unknown number on Tuesday night at approximately 9:30 PM. The call, which lasted for about 21 seconds, left the entrepreneur and his family deeply disturbed.

Upon receiving information about the incident, the Bistupur police immediately launched an investigation. Authorities are working to trace the mobile number used for the call and determine whether the suspect is local or operating from outside the city. The police are also looking into the possibility of an insider’s involvement in the case.

The threat to Dilip Goyal has raised concerns among the business community of Jamshedpur, as similar incidents have occurred in the past. With his business spread across Adityapur and Gamharia, Goyal is a well-known figure in the city’s industrial sector. The police have assured that necessary security measures will be taken to ensure his safety.

This is not the first instance of traders in Jamshedpur receiving extortion threats. In previous cases, criminals have demanded money from businessmen in the name of notorious criminals like Sonu Singh, currently in jail for the Upendra Singh murder case, and Akhilesh Singh.

One of the most infamous extortion cases occurred in 2008 when the MMG Group threatened to bomb prominent businessmen, including Sreeleathers owner Ashish Dey. The gang, led by Shivaji Rai from Baridih, used letters and cyber cafés to send threats. Rai was eventually arrested by the police.

City SP Kumar Shivashish stated that an official complaint has been registered, and the police are actively investigating the threat. Authorities are determined to identify the caller and uncover the motive behind the intimidation. “Strict action will be taken against the culprit,” assured Shivashish.
