Jamshedpur, August 1: Indian National Development Inclusive Alliance (India), a united front of all opposition parties, staged a one-day dharna in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Tuesday to protest against the Manipur incident.
Congress leaders said that on one side Manipur is burning, women are being treated inhumanely there, while on the other hand the Prime Minister of the country is silent. They are busy preparing for the elections. They don’t have time for Manipur. The whole country is ashamed of this incident.
JMM leaders said that the incident in Manipur explains the intention of the double engine government. The central government is anti-tribal. The incident from which the entire women’s society is in panic, but the Prime Minister does not have time to speak on this incident and visiting foreign countries.
CPI’s Shashi Kumar said that people are watching the moves and character of BJP. He is not nationalist but anti-national. Cases of harassment of women have been registered against all their leaders but no action was taken by the party against them.
