Jamshedpur: Husband assaults wife on suspicion

Jamshedpur, Jan 20: Pinki Sahu, a resident of New Baradwari Kishorinagar under Sitaramdera police station, was brutally assaulted by her husband, Anil Kumar Sahu upon returning home after being absent for six days without informing the household. According to information, Pinki’s husband tried to attack her with a knife but she escaped. Following the incident, local residents took Pinki to the Sitaramdera police station, from where she was sent to MGM Hospital for treatment.

Pinki, talking about the incident, said that she worked as a house help at several homes to earn a living. She had been married for 14 years and had two children. Her husband, Anil Kumar Sahu was a substance abuser. Regarding the cause of the incident, Pinki stated that she had gone out on a journey with one of the households that she worked for without informing her husband. When she returned home six days later, Anil began assaulting her without any provocation. He banged her head against the wall, causing a serious injury. Anil also attempted to attack her with a knife, but a plumber working in the house intervened thus saving her life.

In this connection, Pinki Sahu has filed a written complaint at the Sitaramdera police station, and the police are currently investigating the matter.
