Jamshedpur, October 12: The JRD Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur, was abuzz with sporting excitement as it hosted the First-ever Racket Sports Fest 2025 on October 11-12, 2025. The event saw a resounding success with 193 entries, 136 in Badminton, 44 in Lawn Tennis and 13 in Squash. There was participation from Tata Steel, Tata Group companies, and the community across Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, and beyond, including players from Dhanbad, Chaibasa, and Odisha.
The fest featured badminton, lawn tennis, and squash, with participants competing in various categories.
The event was graced by esteemed guests, including Sandeep Kumar, Vice President, Raw Materials, Tata Steel, as the Chief Guest, Ranjan Sinha, Chief Procurement Officer, Tata Steel and Mukul Vinayak Choudhari, Chief, Sports, Tata Steel.
The winners in various categories were felicitated during the prize distribution ceremony. The event not only showcased sporting talent but also promoted a sense of community and healthy living.
Badminton Results:
– Men’s Singles 30+: Imran Khan (Winner), Sayan Hazra (Runner-up)
– Men’s Doubles 30+: Imran & Shiv Parikh (Winners), Steven & Azhar (Runners-up)
– Women’s Singles 30+: Jasreen (Winner), Jalpa Parikh (Runner-up)
– Mix Doubles (Open Category): Gurnam & Jasreen (Winners), Jalpa Parikh & Daniesh (Runners-up)
Lawn Tennis Results:
– Under 16 Boys: Rayyan Arif (Winner), Vihaan Srivastava (Runner-up)
– Under 16 Girls: Kripa Bhatia (Winner), Palashka (Runner-up)
– Above 16 Men’s Singles: Sahil Amin (Winner), Dr. Jayant Kumar (Runner-up)
Squash Results:
– Open Singles: Harshil Dokania (Winner), Rohil Dokania (Runner-up)
The Table Tennis event for various categories as a part of Racket Sports Fest will be taking place from 17th-22nd October, 2025.
The success of the event was made possible by the efforts of officials, including Ananya Lepii, Umesh Vikram Kumar, Firoz Khan, Punam Singh, Renu Bhaduriya, and coaches Vivek Sharma, Dinesh Rakshit, Sheharyar Salim, and Md. Shabbir.
Decathlon was the Hydration partner of the event.
The overwhelming response and participation in the inaugural edition have encouraged the organising committee to plan the second edition of the Racket Sports Fest soon. The event aims to promote sports culture in Jamshedpur and provide a platform for enthusiasts to come together and celebrate their passion for sports.
