No Entry for Heavy Vehicles in Jamshedpur on Maha Shivratri 2026; Buses Exempted

Jamshedpur: On the occasion of Maha Shivratri 2026, the district administration has imposed a temporary ban on the entry of heavy vehicles into Jamshedpur city to ensure smooth traffic management and the safety of devotees.

According to a joint order issued by the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Deputy Commissioner (DC), and Traffic SP, the restriction will remain in force on February 15, 2026. As per the directive, all types of heavy vehicles will be prohibited from entering and operating within Jamshedpur city limits from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Sunday.

However, keeping public convenience in mind, passenger buses have been exempted from the restriction to avoid inconvenience to commuters.

The Traffic SP’s office has directed all police station in-charges and traffic officials in the city to strictly enforce the order. The District Public Relations Officer has also been instructed to ensure wide publicity of the directive so that residents are informed in advance and unnecessary inconvenience is avoided.
