Jamshedpur: Gumla thrash Ranchi 7-1 to win Jharkhand State Sub-Junior Hockey Championship

Ghuran of NTHA declared best player of the tournament

Jamshedpur, May 10: Hockey Gumla thrashed Hockey Ranchi 7-1 in the final to win Jharkhand State Sub-Junior Championship (Men). In the final match played at Naval Tata Hockey Academy (NTHA) ground on Wednesday, Sabiyan Kiro scored six goals for team Gumla and Tintus Hemron netted one for his side in comprehensive win over team Ranchi.  Royan Herenj scored the lone goal for his side. 

The Individual performers were recognized & Podium finishing teams were honoured with medals & trophies.

Pardesh Munda of Hockey Ranchi bagged the Man of the Match award. Sabiyan Kiro of Hockey Gumla

won the rising star of the tournament. Pardesh Munda of Hockey Ranchi was adjudged the best goalkeeper of the tournament. Ghuran Lohra of Naval Tata Hockey Academy Jamshedpur was declared the best player of the tournament. The closing ceremony of ‘Naval Tata’ Hockey Jharkhand Sub-Junior State Championship 2023 Men was graced by Rituraj Sinha, managing director, Tata Steel UISL and the Board of Directors, Hockey Ace Foundation.

Chief guest  Rituraj Sinha also felicitated Ashrita Lakra, Ex-International Hockey player.

Earlier, NTHA defeated Hockey Simdega 7-2 to bag the third place. Vijay Bhoy of Hockey Simdega won the Man of the Match award.
