Jamshedpur, April 8:The Department of Chemistry at Graduate School College for Women, organized the Shukla Sinha Memorial Award ceremony to commemorate the birthday of the late Shukla Sinha, former Head of Department (HOD) at GSCW. The event was held to celebrate her legacy and contributions to the field.
N Sinha, Principal, Dr. Veena Singh Priyadarshi, Doris Das, and Dr. Banashree Dey were present on the occasion. Dr. Arundhati Dey conducted the program.
Salini Kumari Mahato (session 2020-2023) and Dilkash Firdaus were honored with the Shukla Sinha Memorial Trophy and the S. Sinha Memorial running trophy, respectively. The former included a silver plate with the recipient’s name engraved and a cash prize of Rs. 5000, while the latter, awarded to the top performer in first-year chemistry (session 2021-‘24), also came with a cash prize of Rs. 4000.
The trophies, cash prizes, and refreshments were sponsored by D. K. Sinha, the spouse of the late Shukla Sinha.
