Jamshedpur: Governor awards President’s Police Medal and Aasuchna Padak to DSP Arvind Kumar

Jamshedpur, Jan 27:  Jharkhand Governor, C P Radhakrishnan awarded the then Jamshedpur CCR DSP Arvind Kumar with President’s Police Medal and the  Home Minister’s Asadharan Aasuchna Kushalta Padak on the occasion of Republic Day at a state level function at Morhabadi in Ranchi.

Arvind Kumar was appointed in 1989 as Sub Inspector of police. After completion of training, he was posted in in the Naxalite affected Aurangabad district (unified Bihar) and Palamau, Simdega, Gumla ,Dhanbad ,Seraikela , Chaibasa and Jamshedpur in Jharkhand. He worked as a recon in the police department and had several encounters with Maoists. He had a good control over urban crime and criminals. For his milestone dispensation of responsibility, he was awarded the Chief Minister’s Gallantry Medal, Jharkhand Medal and Governor’s Medal for distinguished services earlier. He had collected ample Naxalite intelligence input during his posting in Chaibasa district. Many Anti-Naxalite operations have been conducted successfully on his inputs.
