Jamshedpur, July 23: Team Green Gladiators, led by Captain Dr Sanjay Panda clinched the sixth edition of Jamshedpur Golf League (JGL) beating Epic Warriors in an exciting final on Sunday. Epic Warriors bagged the runner-up spot.
The winning team, Green Gladiators led by Captain Dr Sanjay Panda included Union Minister Arjun Munda, Alan Singh, Sanjay Jha, Nipam Mehta, Ranvir Sinha, Sunil Marwah, Vikas Agarwal, Shubhankar Bhumika, Krishna Kali Sharma, Ritu Kapila, Shakti Sharma, Pradeep Adesra and Prashant Maurya.
The JGL Tournament, played over the last three months at the Beldih and Golmuri courses witnessed intense matches wherein Union Minister Arjun Munda himself played four games.
The JGL Tournament, equivalent to the IPL in format, saw the participation of 14 teams. After the round-robin matches, Epic Warriors, Birdies Battalion, Tigers’ Knights, and Green Gladiators emerged as top four teams and qualified for the qualifier and eliminator rounds. The final match between Epic Warriors and Green Gladiators took place at the Golmuri and Beldih Golf Courses. Green Gladiators showcased the players’ golfing prowess in a thrilling contest, securing victory over Epic Warriors on Sunday and clinching the JGL Season Six trophy.
