Jamshedpur: Golden Girl Komalika Bari receives rousing reception

Jamshedpur, Aug 27:  Golden girl Komalika Bari was given a rousing reception on her arrival at Jamshedpur on Tuesday evening amid loud and clear adulation. Komalika Bari was in a buoyant mood. Birsanagar resident Komalika won gold in women�s cadet recurve category in the World Archery Youth Championships in Madrid after a 7-3 victory over Japan�s Waka Sonoda in the final. Accompanied by her coach Purnima Mahato of Tata Archery Academy, Komalika arrived at Mango Chowk and garlanded the bust of Khudiram Bose.

Her family members along with relatives and locals of Birsanagar were present in large numbers. The youngster thanked her coaches for her outstanding performance in the World Archery Youth Championships.

The 17-year old became India�s second recurve cadet (under-18) world champion after Deepika Kumari, also a former cadet of Tata Archery Academy, who won the title in 2009.

Komalika Bari hails from Jamshedpur and had started archery training in the year 2012 at the age of 11 at ISWP training centre facility in Jamshedpur. She joined Tata Archery Academy (TAA) in 2016 and has been training in TAA for three years now under one of the best coaching panels of Archery in India comprising ace coaches Dharmendra Tiwary, Purnima Mahato, Anil Kumar and Bikash Upadhyay.
