No Covid deaths in Jamshedpur since 23 days

Active cases down to 21 with zero new positive

Jamshedpur, Aug 22: No COVID-19 death has been reported in Jamshedpur (East Singhbhum district) in the last 23 days as the death toll remains at 1057. Jamshedpur last reported a Covid fatality on July 30.

As Covid cases dip across Jharkhand, Jamshedpur reported zero fresh cases on Sunday, August 22.  

1 person recovered from the virus in East Singhbhum district on Sunday, August 22, while no death was reported.

The positive Coronavirus tally remained at 51826 on Sunday while 50748 people have recovered of the virus including 1 on August 22. Total active cases in Jamshedpur are 21.

In the past five weeks, Jamshedpur has been reporting less than 10 Covid cases each day on an average.

Of the 21 patients still undergoing treatment for the coronavirus in the district, most are in home isolation, while some are being treated at care centres and hospitals. 

Jamshedpur has seen a sharp decline in their total cases in the past ten weeks.

1 person recovered from the virus on Sunday taking the overall recoveries to 50748 which accounts for a recovery rate of 97.92%.

East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 523136 tests per million in the district.

The recovery rate in Jamshedpur is 97.92% while the mortality rate is 2.04 %.

More than 5000 samples were tested on Sunday of which 1 person tested positive. Of the 5184 samples 1757 were RT-PCR, 99 TrueNat and 3328 RAT.  

So far in Jamshedpur 1401693 samples have been collected out of which 1392589 have been tested and 1340793 have turned out to be negative.

East Singhbhum deputy commissioner Suraj Kumar had earlier directed officials to carry out large scale testing, treatment and surveillance in order to bring down active cases and new infections. Further instructions have been issued to individual district officials in a series of meetings to prepare for a possible third wave of infections.
