Jamshedpur: GM Parvin Thipsay honored by East Singhbhum District Chess Association

Jamshedpur: Indian Chess Grandmaster (GM) Parvin Thipsay arrived in Jamshedpur today. he was present during the opening ceremony of the Tata Steel 4th All India specially abled chess tournament 2024 which began on June 24 at JRD Tata Sports Complex.

He was warmly welcomed by the East Singhbhum District Chess Association (ESDCA) Secretary, Narendra Kumar Tiwari, and Tata Steel Sports Department Manager, Hasan Imam.

GM Thipsay was honored with a bouquet as a token of appreciation for his contributions to the game of chess.

Also present were Jayant Kumar Bhuiyan, Chandan Kumar Prasad, Anup Kumar Singh, Awadhesh Kumar, Chiranji Lal, and K.P. Sharma.

Pravin Thipsay holds the FIDE title of Grandmaster. He is the first Indian to get chess Grandmaster Norm and the first Indian to win the Commonwealth Chess Championship.
