Jamshedpur girl to participate in ISRO Yuvika Scientist programme

Ghatsila, April 27:  Class IX student of Sant Nandlal Smriti Vidya Mandir (SNSVM) in Ghatshila, Megha Sharma did her school proud by being selected for ISRO’s Yuvika Scientist programme. Giving details, SNSVM Manager Dr Prasenjit Karmakar informed that 11 students from the school had participated in the ISRO programme test. More than 1,000 students across schools in India participated in the competitive ISRO examination. Out of 150 students selected for the ISRO Yuvika Scientist programme, Megha Sharma made the cut for the opportunity of visiting ISRO under the young scientists’ project. The space research organization will hold this 15 day summer camp at Hyderabad ISRO centre in Sriharikota. The camp will be organized by ISRO at Sriharikota Between May 16 and 28 in which 150 young students will participate with Megha Sharma being one of the participants.

An excited and elated Megha Sharma is looking forward to the ISRO visit. She and her father, Vinay Sharma were honoured by SNSVM teacher Sumita Bhattacharya during the joint assembly organized by the school’s management.

Megha Sharma gave the credit for the forthcoming ISRO experience to the school teachers and her parents. On behalf of the school management committee, Manager Dr Karmakar expressed his gratitude to the entire school fraternity and parents for the golden opportunity Megha has achieved and wished her good luck for a bright future.
