Jamshedpur: Gas leak in Narsingh Ispat company, 12 hospitalized

Jamshedpur, April 27: As many as 12 workers of Narsingh Ispat Limited, Chowka (in Seraikela-Kharsawan) were hospitalized on Wednesday following a gas leak incident on the company premises, sources said.

Three of the workers, identified as Mithilesh Kumar, Anand Kumar and Arjun Prasad, were in critical condition when taken to the hospital, sources said.

Sources said the gas suddenly started leaking in the plant located on the Chowka-Kandra road. The three workers first reportedly inhaled the gas on duty and fell unconscious. They were taken to TMH. Seven more workers were taken to the hospital thereafter, sources said.

It could not be immediately known as to what gas leaked from the plant and what was the cause of its leakage.

Local police said they were not informed about the incident by the company officials.
