Jamshedpur: City police arrested Neetu Bhakta, a native of North 24 Pargana district of West Bengal, for allegedly raping many girls in the name of giving them dance training and ensuring their selection in certain dance shows on TV channels.
DSP (CCR) Sudhir Kumar said the accused had raped a minor girl after promising her a bright career in dance and TV shows. �The minor contacted the accused on the numbers he had advertised in newspapers under the name of Boogie Woogie dance club. She was soon tricked in by the accused who persuaded her to go along with him to his west Bengal house where he raped her several times,� he said.
The DSP said a case under POCSO Act was registered against the accused at Bistupur PS on 6th July last. After registering the case, a team of city police left for West Bengal and arrested the accused with the help of local police officials.
During interrogation, the accused reportedly confessed his offence. He told cops he used to float advertisements in newspapers to lure young girls. After promising the girls, the accused used to rape them, the accused told cops.
