Jamshedpur: Former Jharkhand CM Raghubar’s nephew accused of extortion

Jamshedpur, Jan 9: A case of demanding extortion worth Rs 8 lakh was lodged against Kamlesh Sahu, nephew of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das, by Sitaramdera police here on Monday.

The FIR was registered on the complaint of a local businessman Sangam Agrawal. Agrawal said Sahu had assaulted him at 2 pm on 8th January in Baradwari. He said Sahu was accompanied by a group of 20-25 goons.

Police said Kamlesh Sahu had also lodged a similar complaint against Agrawal and accused him of assaulting him and demanding Rs 8 in extortion at his Baradwari-based mineral processing plant Chanduka Minerals.

Sahu, on the other hand, alleed that Agrawal had called him at his plant to return him dues worth Rs 8 lakh. He said he was beaten up by Agrawal and also threatened to pay extortion.

Police said they were verifying the allegations. No arresting was made in the case till late evening.
