Jamshedpur Flower Show 2025: 35th Edition Ends at Gopal Maidan

Jamshedpur: The 35th Annual Flower Show of the Horticultural Society of Jamshedpur (HSJ) drew to a close at Gopal Maidan with a vibrant valedictory function today, marking the culmination of four days of floral splendour, creativity, and community participation.

The prestigious event, which began on December 28, witnessed an overwhelming footfall of over 40,000 visitors, reaffirming its status as one of the city’s most awaited cultural and horticultural celebrations.

The valedictory ceremony was graced by Chaitanya Bhanu, Vice President – Operations, Tata Steel, as the chief guest, while Swastika Basu, Managing Director, Jamipol, attended as the guest of honour. Both dignitaries lauded HSJ for its sustained efforts over the past three decades in promoting horticulture, environmental consciousness, and community engagement through the annual flower show.

This year’s exhibition showcased a dazzling array of flowers, fruits, and vegetables across amateur and institutional categories, with keen participation from gardeners, schools, institutions, and nurseries.

Themed on Landscape and Topiary, the show featured 58 exhibits—23 institutional and 35 amateur—transforming Gopal Maidan into a colourful botanical canvas. Judging was conducted by eight eminent experts from across eastern India, ensuring high standards of evaluation.

Adding to the festive spirit were gardening workshops on topiary, hydroponics, balcony and low-cost gardening, cultural performances by over 200 children, and engaging activities for young visitors, including a sit-and-draw competition that saw enthusiastic participation from specially-abled children as well.

The valedictory function also saw the distribution of prizes, with Manju Bhamra emerging as the Overall Champion in the amateur category and XLRI clinching the Overall Champion title among institutions. Special honours such as King and Queen of the Show further highlighted exceptional horticultural excellence.

Announcing the dates for the next edition, HSJ informed that the 36th Annual Flower Show will be held from December 24 to 27, 2026, at Gopal Maidan. As the curtains fell on the 35th edition, the event once again left behind a strong message of harmony with nature, inspiring citizens to nurture greener spaces and a more sustainable future.
