Jamshedpur: Five get life term in electrician murder case

Jamshedpur, Nov 28: The court of Additional District Judge (ADJ) Rajendra Kumar Sinha sentenced five persons to life imprisonment in Sikandar Das murder case of Humepipe Chandinagar on Thursday. It also imposed a fine of Rs 5000 each on the convicts.

The court had convicted Chandingar residents Sonu Gope, Kishore Das, Ajit Mandal, Injamam and Taklu Lohar on 23rd November last. One accused in the case, Shambhu Patro is still at large in this case.

The case dates back to 28th May 2015. Sikandar Das, an electrician, was at home with his wife Pinki in the evening when Sonu Gope came to his house allegedly in the name of seeking his services. Later, around 9 pm, Kishore Das came to Pinki and informed her that Sikandar had got injured. When Pinki reached Chhyanagar, she reportedly saw the accused persons fleeing the scene and some youths taking Sikandar to hospital. Sikandar had died after some time in the hospital.
