Jamshedpur Firing: Youth injured in shooting near Raghubar Das’ residence

Jamshedpur, September 9: Late Sunday night, gunshots were fired about 50 steps from the residence of Odisha Governor Raghubar Das, near Agrico light signal in Sidhgora police station area. The shooting left a youth, Akash Singh, injured. He is currently receiving treatment at TMH. Police recovered a shell casing from near the light signal.

A suspect has been arrested with four pistols in connection with the incident. Akash Singh, who drives a car for a BJP leader, sustained a gunshot wound near his head. He informed the police that the shots were fired by Akshay Singh, son of former constable Kalika Singh, over an old dispute. Akshay Singh fled the scene. Reportedly, Akshay Singh’s brother Rahul Singh, previously granted bail by the Jharkhand High Court, was also involved in the incident.

Police raided Akshay Singh’s residence and recovered more pistols. The exact details of the case are yet to be disclosed by the police. The conflict between Akash Singh and Akshay Singh was reportedly the cause of the shooting.
