Jamshedpur firing: Gunshot victim Ashwin Kumar succumbs to injuries, gang rivalry suspected

Jamshedpur, July 5: Tragic news unfolded as 28-year-old Ashwin Kumar, who was admitted to Tata Motors Hospital with gunshot injuries sustained on Wednesday morning, tragically succumbed to his injuries in the afternoon. The victim, a resident of Sheshnaag locality in Chhota Govindpur, was shot multiple times, with one of the shots proving fatal.

Ashwin Kumar was shot at least three times, and one of the bullets critically struck a vital area in his chest. Despite undergoing emergency surgery, he tragically passed away. Deputy Superintendent of Police (CCR), Animesh Gupta, confirmed the unfortunate demise of Ashwin Kumar and stated that the motive behind the gun-shot attack was gang rivalry. The authorities have identified the assailants and are determined to apprehend them promptly.

DSP Animesh Gupta revealed that the gun-shot attack on Ashwin Kumar was a result of an altercation over a mobile phone with Suraj Yadav, a key member of a rival gang. He further explained that a violent clash between the two gangs had occurred during the Holi festival. The assailants responsible for the murder, identified as Deepak Kumar and Mukesh Jha, allegedly received instructions from Suraj Yadav.

Ashwin Kumar, son of Awdheshlal Verma, was involved in the business of land sale-purchase in the Govindpur area. On the fateful morning, he was en route to a crematorium to attend the last rites of a relative when he was attacked by the two bike-borne criminals. Prior to heading to the crematorium, he had taken potential clients to the Khakripara area to show them plots of land.

The demise of Ashwin Kumar due to the gunshot injuries he sustained has left the community in Chhota Govindpur in shock and mourning. Gang rivalry is suspected to be the motive behind the attack, with the assailants identified and efforts underway to bring them to justice. The incident highlights the need for stronger measures to address gang violence and ensure the safety and security of residents in the area.
