Jamshedpur: Finance company goons beat up driver, cleaner

Jamshedpur, April 24: A truck driver, Dharmendra Singh, and his son Sandeep Singh were allegedly beaten up and abused by a group of goons reportedly belonging to a private transport finance company on Sunday. They were taken to MGM Hospital. Dharmendra sustained minor injuries while his son got injured in the head, sources said.

According to police, the goons of a private transport insurance company intercepted them on their way near Mukhiya Danga on the National Highway 33 under MGM police station area and demanded repayment of loan dues. When Dharmendra spoke to the truck owner about the loan dues, he was told the installment had been paid. Despite this, the accused persons forced Dharmendra to park the vehicle at a godown. On reaching the godown, the driver and his son were severely assaulted by the goons, police said.

Cops said they were investigating the matter on the complaint of Dharmendra Singh. They said stringent action would be taken against the finance company goons.
