
Jamshedpur, Oct 9: A burst of colours filled every nook and corner of Jamshedpur during Durga Puja. Jamshedpur FC’s foreign players and coaches from Spain are in the city preparing for the Indian Super League season 6. On Navami, Spaniards Tiri, Piti, Aitor Monroy, Sergio Castel, Noe Acosta, Joyner Lourenco along with head coach Antonio Iriondo and assistant coach Victor Pulga got a first-hand experience of the big festival. The Spaniards were accompanied by Jamshedpur FC CEO Mukul Choudhari.

The pandal hopping started with a visit to most cherished Durga Puja in town at CH Area. They met the management committee members and seemed thrilled to see the world’s biggest open air exhibition of art. The crowd specially the youths at the CH Area ground went berserk to see JFC stars and everyone tried to click a selfie with their favourite footballer. JFC boys then headed towards Farm Area in Kadma and last stop of the day was the Durga Puja pandal near Tata Football Academy.
The festival
seemed to have caught their fancy.
Sharing his experience, Spanish striker Sergio Castel said, “It was a
new experience for me. The atmosphere was amazing and it was a great way to
connect with the people and culture of Jamshedpur”.
“It was a beautiful experience to learn a little more about Indian culture. The lights and the grand decor of the places along with the people in traditional wear was a delight to watch,” said midfielder Aitor Monroy.
Jamshedpur FC’s Goalkeeping coach Alfonso Lacasa said, “It was an awesome experience. I was overwhelmed by the love and kindness with which people received us. We are very fortunate to be able to share moments like these with the people of Jamshedpur”.
