Jamshedpur, March 11: Defender Pratik Chaudhari believes Jamshedpur FC’s strong defensive organisation has been key to their impressive start to the Indian Super League season, as the team prepares for a challenging away fixture against NorthEast United FC.
The Men of Steel have been one of the most solid defensive sides in the league so far, keeping three clean sheets and conceding just one goal in their opening matches. Chaudhari said the defensive record reflects the collective effort of the entire team rather than just the backline.
“We have been working very hard on our defensive shape in training. It’s not only the defenders, the whole team works together to stay compact and disciplined, and that has helped us concede fewer goals,” he said.
Chaudhari also praised the communication and understanding among the defensive unit and goalkeeper, which has helped the team remain organised even during difficult phases of matches.
“We always try to talk to each other and stay alert throughout the game. That communication is very important because it helps us maintain our structure and deal with dangerous situations,” he added.
Looking ahead to the away fixture against NorthEast United and Sporting Delhi, Chaudhari acknowledged that playing away from home always brings additional challenges in the league.
“Away matches are never easy, especially against a strong side like NorthEast United. But if we keep the same discipline and fighting spirit, we believe we can put in another strong performance,” he said.
With Jamshedpur FC riding a wave of momentum and boasting one of the league’s best defensive records, Chaudhari believes the team’s unity and organisation will be crucial as they aim to maintain their impressive run in the upcoming away fixtures.
